Four D associates limited has successfully implemented broadband infrastructure for a higher learning institution in Nigeria's South-East zone. Ten months into the project, the benefits are becoming evident. Broadband is a type of high-speed internet that's much faster and more dependable than old dial-up connections. It can transmit large amounts of data, including text, images, and videos, quickly and efficiently. Broadband is delivered through various technologies like DSL, cable, fiber optic, or wireless, and offers faster downloads, seamless streaming, and overall better performance compared to dial-up. In an interview, Mr. Abu Josiah, the Administrative Registrar highlighted how broadband has streamlined administrative processes at the institution. He pointed out that broadband has enhanced operational efficiency by automating tasks such as registration, fee payment, and record-keeping. He also made emphasis on the fast internet speed. Mr. Obinna Joseph from the Student Affairs department highlights the significant impact of broadband deployment on the institution's learning environment. He notes that broadband has greatly improved access to online resources such as e-books, videos, and interactive learning platforms, enhancing the overall educational experience. Furthermore, some students have expressed that broadband has expanded research opportunities, enabling both students and faculty to conduct extensive research, collaborate globally, and access a wide array of journals and databases. In conclusion, the deployment of broadband infrastructure has ushered in a new era of enhanced learning, research opportunities, efficient administration, and digital skill development.
